I also read issue 1 of Bendis's Brilliant. I'm not sure where this is going but its and interesting start. The story seems to be set in the "real" world where their are no super-heroes. A group of students may have discovered how to make them. The 1st character you meet has already found a way to use them for personal gain. So we have our first villain but who will be the hero? It should be interesting to see how the group reacts when they see what he's done.
I'll be looking for issue #2.
A quick follow up.
ReplyDeleteI just read issue 7 of Superior. It was good but played out they way you'd expect. The hero is set with a moral quandary and does what you'd expect and the big fight ensues. While the "way out" of the problem set at the end of issue 6 was not what I expected the ending was a bit flat. Don't get me wrong I still enjoyed the series, I just did not get that "wow" feeling I got from 1-6.
Brilliant 2 moved along nicely. The "villain" has shown the others that he's got powers but he needs help because they are "unstable". HE has not admitted what he's be doing yet so I'm still waiting to see how that plays out.
